Arriving in Uganda & Jinga

Arriving in Uganda & Jinga

The little land-locked country of Uganda has a surprising amount of variety, and its not only about seeing Gorillas! We joined my folks on part of their Trans-Africa trip and traveled across the country doing an incredible amount in only the 2 weeks we had off from work.

The First Nile Special

It is an easy 5hr flight from JHB, South Africa into Entebbe airport and then a short taxi ride into Kampala, your typical chaotic African city! We didn’t spend much time in Kampala but headed straight for Jinga, the adventure capital of Uganda and a beautiful little town on the White Nile River. Of course the highlight here was the rafting – check out the highlights video here.

Unfortunately there are plans to dam part of the river which will destroy many rapids so very glad we made it in time! The river itself is stunning and in between rapids you float along peacefully with Fish Eagles flying overhead.
